Sumer Knights

My latest DBA army.  Bedouins.  These are to be used in our Sumerian campaign game.

I tried my hand at doing a cork painted 2'x2' table.  

Two Sumerian armies battle it out.  Played twice and got a 1 win, 1 loss result.

Sumer Knights

The "Monday Knights" are gearing up for some Book I DBA.  We are going to do a campaign using Sumerian/Mesopotamian armies.  I have made some investment in Museum Miniatures and will be painting at least 4 more armies.

Below are my Eureka Sumerian I/1b. army just off the paint table.  Will likely add some flock once I get all the armies together.

Viktory II Solo

On the first day of my Christmas vacation I,  ...

...got out my Viktory II boardgame and set up a four player map.  I randomly drew capitals out of my cap to set up the start points on the map.  I poured a nice Makers Mark and enjoyed about 6 turns of the game playing solo and watching the Fox news special on Patriots about the battle of Trenton and the American Recolution.

Today I just finished two turns and am going over all the rules to make sure I know how to play the game correctly.  I absolutely love the miniatures in this game and really like the way the board is revealed in the initial play.

That is not snow up in the NE.  Those are still unexplored terrain areas on the map. I like Green's position with the inland sea.

I think this game is out of print.  If you can find a copy and like combined arms 18th century flavor I would recommend the title.

Angevin Campaign 1135

A great night of DBA was had at M. Sanderson's gaming table.  We had five players table side to push some lead and talk of the campaign.   The spring move of 1135 is in the record book and we had the battle of Toulouse.  Wherein Duke John of Bayonne did offer field battle to the invading force of Duke Ted.  

Duke John lost one stand of knights and killed the opposing general and two stands of his knights.

A well fought set of outcomes and the city of Toulouse is safe for the spring.

A well fought battle involving two feudal armies from the campaign.

Some solo DBA to establish a catalog of results for the outcomes of map moves.

The Twilight of Burgundy 1499

1499 France and environsThe final battle between the 

Holy Roman Empire and the French.

Steve G. provided the background for the campaign the map and two of the armies.  I would play as Emperor Maximilian leader of the Germans. Mike played as the French and Steve commanded the Burgundian troops.

The campaign came down to a great final battle against Mike S. and his French ordinance army.

 The armies are about to clash.  This would be a win on the right flank.  We pushed the extreme right of the line with knights and had a breakthrough.

 These pike were extremely steady and even when flanked were difficult to break.
